My name is Woody Boswell, owner and CEO of EAGLE Home Inventory. The very nature of this business requires that you trust my credentials. To that end please let me tell you a little about myself. 

I am a Lieutenant and a 25-year veteran of the Newport News Police Department. I have served as Property Crimes and Major Crimes' supervisor;  also Team Member, Team Leader, Deputy Commander, and currently, Commander of the Tactical Operations Unit (SWAT). 

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Christopher Newport University in Political Science, with a concentration in Criminal Justice Studies and an A.A.S. degree from Thomas Nelson Community College in Police Science.

After serving my country in the United States Army, I began my police career with Newport News, Virginia, in 1983 . I served in the Pawn Shop division as a Property Crime Investigator, also in the General Assignment Investigations Division and Burglary Unit. I have helped to recover thousands of dollars in stolen property. 

After my promotion to Sergeant, I was transferred back into Investigations as a Precinct Investigations Supervisor to supervise the types of cases I had previously investigated. I continued to serve in the Major Crimes Division as the Robbery Unit Supervisor until my subsequent promotion to Lieutenant. Concurrently, I served as a Tactical Operations Unit member. In 2005, I was appointed an Assault Team Leader and then later to Deputy Commander, and Commander. In these positions, I was fortunate to have provided Tactical Support to the Secret Service Counter Assault Team for Presidential Security on two occasions. 

I am a recipient of two Life Saving Medals, the Outstanding Contribution to Law Enforcement award, the Chief's Excellence in Leadership Coin, and the City of Newport News Employee of the Month award. I have had numerous award nominations, including the Hero/Legend in Law Enforcement award. My work in law enforcement innovative programs was studied by the Police Executive Research Forum and profiled by the National Institute of Justice and U.S. News and World Report.
